This past weekend we made a huge feat in the “baby” world. We completed our first road trip. It went pretty well I might add. We drove to Ft. Worth last Sunday to surprise my best friend Audrey. Her boyfriend (now fiancé) Brandon proposed on their one year anniversary and then brought her to a huge surprise party with all of their friends. I can’t tell you how special it was to be there.
At church we were talking about “showing up” for people and the impact you can make in someone’s life by just being present. I was thinking about all the people that showed up for me. There were youth leaders, my sisters, my parents, and friends. Each of these people showed up in a big way and in turn they impacted my life. Audrey was one of those few friends who always showed up for me. She was the friend that would drive for hours just to see me for a few. She was there when my grandpa died. She was there cheering in the crowd for me at Big Event. She was the one planning a surprise party for me months in advance. And she was the one who would walk with me on campus for hours and just listen. She has always shown up in my life and I was so happy to be able to show up and celebrate with her on this incredible occasion.
We could not be happier for Audrey and Brandon! You two will have an amazing ministry together and a wonderful marriage.
